Welcome to Saturday Academy at OSU

Saturday Academy is a non-profit,  extracurricular, precollege education program hosted by Oregon State University. The program, chartered at OSU since 1986, enlists community professionals to share their facilities, equipment, and expertise through hands-on classes, workshops, and mentorships to extend and augment the science curriculum of the school systems. Saturday Academy places special emphasis on the sciences, math and technology. Financial assistance is available to all who qualify.

Join this middle school science club just for girls! Where they learn to turn ideas into reality through a creative, fun, inventive, approach to science. Why girls? According to the "Equitable Treatment of Girls and Boys in the Classroom" (June 1989) by the American Association of University Women Report, studies show that girls as young as age two or three are aware of occupational segregation. We are working to break this gender stereotype/bias by pushing girls to follow their dreams by supporting and feeding their curiosity. AWSEM club meetings will be held during winter and spring term by undergraduate women studying science and engineering fields.

Don't forget to reserve your spot now online and complete the registration process by filling out a registration and sending in your payment to our office.
