Saturday Academy inspires young people to explore their world through hands-on learning with community experts and professionals.

Our goal is to reinforce the joy of learning, assist young people in developing intellectually and help them prepare for rewarding careers.

We strive to make our experiences available to all students who seek them, and to affirmatively reach out to those who might not otherwise participate.

We value all learning and offer experiences in many disciplines. We emphasize the sciences, especially engineering, technology and health sciences, because of the rapid rate of change in these fields and their essential role in modern life.

Saturday Academy received several awards during the ‘90’s, among them:

The Presidential Award for Excellence in Science,  Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring by President William J. Clinton, 1996

For Kids’ Sake Award, Saturday Academy’s Apprenticeships in Science and Engineering Program—“In recognition of your commitment to help educate youth so they are prepared to meet tomorrow’s challenges.” Presented by Oregon’s KPTV, Porltand, 1996

The Green Heron Award for the Student Watershed Research Project, presented by Tualatin Riverkeepers, 1999
